Santa Fe, N.M. – September 12, 2010 – The organizers of the Venture Capital in the Rockies conference announced they have selected the region’s 12 most promising startups to deliver elevator pitches on-stage to hundreds of conference-goers. Now in its third year, VCIR Fall builds off the continued success of VCIR Winter – the longest-running, largest and most successful VC conference in the Rocky Mountain region. This year’s VCIR Fall conference will be held Sept. 15-17 at the El Dorado Hotel and Spa in Santa Fe, N.M.
“The 12 companies we selected to present at this year’s conference really represent this year’s best and brightest startups,” said Brian Birk, managing partner at Sun Mountain Capital and co-chair of the event. “We’re so excited that Rocky Mountain region has produced such a diverse group of companies that will have a chance to showcase their ideas to the region’s biggest venture capitalists. These companies are a good representation of the tremendous entrepreneurial talent across the region.”

Arizona-based companies
HTG (High Throughput Genomics) is a personalized healthcare company focused on enabling the validation of new molecular gene signatures and transition into clinical diagnostic tests. New Mexico-based companies
JackRabbit Systems (JRS) provides its BookDirect Pricing and Availability Search Engine for lodging, events, and special offers to online travel portals such as city and state tourism department websites. Consumers search for pricing and availability and are redirected to the lodging property or event provider to complete the booking. JRS works with over 180 city and state tourism offices including the Las Vegas Convention and Visitor’s Authority.
nanoMR develops medical diagnostic products using proprietary immunochemistry technology and sample processing techniques. nanoMR’s first product addresses the blood culture market, detecting and identifying bloodstream infections directly from blood in under 2 hours, compared to 2-5 days for blood culture.
